I call this rock, quite simply, the Man in the Rock. He sits in the row of granite boulders surrounding the main house. The Man in the Rock is suitably peaceful, serene and at ease with the world. There is a spiritual quality which I aspire to. I think I must be a pagan as I predominantly find my God in Nature.
There are numerous granite formations on the property that we have given names to. It's a bit like finding shapes and patterns in the clouds. There is Ghost Rock, Elvis Rock, Shark Rock etc. The Dragon's Backbone is a ridge of rock that runs below Cannon Creek. It is a quality of the nature of the Granite Belt that particularly inspires Spirituality.
Before I retired in 2019, I continually found myself searching for meaning in my life. A meaning that was not fulfilled by the work-a-day world. My first spiritual project was to develop the Tree of Life Spiritual Walk. This project manifested everything that I have read about and studied since I was about 19 years of age. The spirituality of the Kabbalah, the Tarot and Numerology came to life. Now you can walk the 22nd Path. As you do so, you can enjoy the gentle freedom of the open area. Contemplate the meaning of it all. The Tree of Life is an interpretation of how energy, life and the universe came into being. A model of the rhythmic pattern of life.
Later on, still struggling with a meaningful purpose, I constructed the Earth & Soul Labyrinth, based upon the Rose Labyrinth in the Chartres Cathedral in France.
Both features, the Tree of Life Spiritual Walk and the Earth & Soul Labyrinth, fit within the natural setting and allow an opportunity for spiritual introspection.
The Tree of Life Spiritual Walk offers explanation and learning.
