Bush Walks
Cannon Creek Gorge (guide required). 1 hr round walk - fill in a morning or an afternoon . Cannon Creek Top Crossing - 1 hr round walk - fill in a morning or an afternoon exploring the rocky creek bed of Cannon Creek. Doro's Hole on the Broadwater - 1.5 to 2 hr round walk Arrange a picnic or BBQ lunch (there are wood-fired BBQ facilities along the creek) and spend the afternoon enjoying Doro's Hole - swimming, kayaking. Alternatively, arrive after lunch and relax around Doro's Hole, leading to a BBQ dinner. You can walk or drive to Doro's Hole. Dragon's Backbone (guide required). 1.5 to 2 hr round walk. Currently closed - too wet to get at. I wouldn't plan any other bushwalks along with the Dragon's Backbone. It can be a tiring walk and incorporated with morning/afternoon tea and maybe a picnic lunch, this will fill your day. Add with it an evening walk at the Earth & Soul Labyrinth or the Tree of Life Spiritual Walk and you may have the perfect day . The Fortress An easy walk along the Wallaby Trail, over the Paperbark Crossing, halfway between the Amphitheatre and the turn off to the Top of the Gorge, turn in to the Fortress, 108 metres, through a field of stone and wildflowers. Gorge Terraces The Gorge Terraces may be accessed from the Dragon's Backbone trail, south of the cabins. It is only 575 metres from the Earth Cabin to the Gorge Terraces. Alternatively, you can walk from the Labyrinth to the Gorge turnoff on the back wall of the Dam. Don't go down into the gorge but continue along the dam wall to the south. Go over the dam overflow and follow the trail of pink tags and rocks along the western edge of Cannon Creek & the Gorge. The Buddhas in the Bush Within 100 metres of the Labyrinth, off the main Gorge Track. The Buddhas in the Bush is a meditation glade in a loop down to large boulders and bush on the edge of Cannon Creek. Five Cascades Off the main Gorge Track only 50 metres from the Labyrinth. When Cannon Creek is running this is one of the most beautiful places. The Wallaby Trail The Wallaby Trail goes off the main path between the Labyrinth & the Gorge. Go down over the Paperbark Crossing, through the Amphitheatre and continue to the Broadwater & Doro's Hole. The Ridge Walk Follows a granite ridge that runs parallel with the Broadwater, from half way along the main road from the Labyrinth down to Doro's Hole.
