The Gorge Terraces walk follows the southern edge of Cannon Creek Gorge. Follow the signs from the Labyrinth that lead to the Gorge. Instead of going into the Gorge from the back of the dam continue along the dam wall past the dam overflow.
Walk through to the end of the large, rocky outcrop area beyond the dam. The trail has been marked with pink tape and pink paint on some rocks. There are some beautiful spots along the trail. It is a particularly good trail when Cannon Creek is flowing.
Below is Baker's Crossing in the Gorge. Notice the hot cross bun and the slices of bread.
The Terraces at the end of the trail are a special natural feature.
We have placed some chairs looking over The Terraces giving you a view to the Top of the Gorge on the other side.
Below is a view of Lounge Chair Rock, looking up from the Terraces.
The chairs also look out over what I call the Ouribus, the snake that has swallowed its tail.
The Gorge Terraces walk can also be approached from the Earth Cabin. Signs are in place to show the way. One way to the chairs over the Terraces is only 575 metres.
